Shreya Rawat
Shreya Rawat is a dancer, model, and educator based in New York City. Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Shreya’s journey into the performing arts began at the age of 6 as a humble attempt by her mother to channel her hyperactive energy. She spent her early years rigorously training at the DanceworX Academy under various national and international faculty and later moved to the United States to pursue her passion. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in modern dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where she had the opportunity to perform works by renowned choreographers such as Camille A. Brown, Keisha Lalama, and Crystal Fraizer, while under the mentorship of Garfield Lemonius.
Now in New York City, Shreya is represented by Bloc Agency and is an active member of various dance companies. Her performance and teaching credits span a wide array of settings, and she continues to collaborate with other industry professionals. Some credits include Madonna, Frankie Grande, Rutshelle, Alex Mali, KAYNE The Lovechild, ADA association, Broadway Bares, ORNGE LIVE IV, and NYFW.
For Shreya, the ability to express and create is a divine gift that drives her journey to discover the deeper meaning behind it all:
Dance is a divine gift leading I’ve always sensed that my purpose is something greater than myself. God has blessed me with the gift of dance, the ability to express, and the gift of creation—each of which feels uniquely mine, yet always beyond me in some way. While I’m not entirely sure what that means yet, I believe my journey and ultimately the aim is to discover the deeper meaning behind it all.
