Vanessa Camales

Vanessa began dancing at the age of 4 at Miss Ruth School of Dance, training in ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. She furthered her training at Across The Floor where she took up lyrical, discovered her love for hip hop, and competed with their Senior Dance Company. Throughout high school, Vanessa was the Show Choir Captain, co-choreographer for the dance team, and Choreography Captain for Fr3sh Juniors Dance Troupe. While studying at Rutgers University, she danced with Miracle Project, The Varsity, and became a director for RAPS Dance Troupe. Through these groups, Vanessa has competed in various competitions throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Vanessa is not only a skilled and diverse dancer, she is also self-taught in yoga and began practicing in 2015 after becoming inspired by several accounts she came across on Instagram. She also later returned to Across The Floor as one of their hip hop instructors up until she began attending Stockton University’s Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming an occupational therapist. Vanessa joined IMGE in 2017 during school and was able to apply all of her contemporary, hip-hop, and yoga training to a new dance form. As Vanessa pursues her career in Occupational Therapy, she continues to challenge herself physically, artistically and culturally with IMGE.
