Kevin Adap

Kevin began taking hip hop lessons at 10 years old at Susie Karlik’s Dance Sensation under Kenny “Clutch” Thomas, a well-known hip hop choreographer in the South New Jersey area. Kevin is also an 18-year-trained martial artist and a Senior Certified Taekwondo Instructor at Union’s United Taekwondo Academy in Union, NJ. He competed in martial arts and has also traveled to Florida for an annual international tournament with his competition team where they became international champions. Kevin took a break from dancing sessions during high school but jumped right back in freshman year of college at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He joined the Purple Dancers, collegiate dance group under the Filipino organization, FINEST, and soon became dance captain, teaching both experienced and non-experienced dancers. Kevin’s passion for dancing continued to grow when he auditioned for and joined UFPx, at training team in Matawan, NJ, during his junior year. He eventually moved up to the competing team, UFP, and performed with them for two years across the east coast in competitions including New Jersey, Maryland, and Massachusetts. During his time with UFP, he was also a hip hop teacher/choreographer for his home studio Susie Karlik’s Dance Sensation, teaching children ages 6-12 years old. Kevin was introduced to the style of Urban Indian by Ishita and then joined IMGE in summer of 2017. Since joining the group, his knowledge of dancing has expanded greatly by experiencing a new and intricate dance form. Kevin is excited to learn more from IMGE’s opportunities.
